I was introduced
to a new term which is SEO or Search Engine Optimization. Its purpose is to
make your website rank the highest in search engines. I also read SEO articles,
how important is SEO, benefits we get from SEO and etc. It’s an adjustment
week.
Week
2 (Aug6 – Aug10)
I was taught how
to filter and edit articles. These processes of filtering and editing articles
serve as practice & preparation. The thing I needed to do was to check if
the articles have sense, the thought of the article is consistent, delete
duplicate articles, and place every article to its corresponding category.
Week
3 (Aug13 - Aug17)
There was a new
task assigned to me which was Site Testing. I need to test the client and
reseller portals of www.buyrealmarketing.com.
It’s all about checking the functionalities of every button and links you found
on the site and record any of which that didn’t function well. You just need to
follow every instruction given. You don’t need to worry because instructions
were given step-by-step and are comprehensible.
Week
4 (Aug20 – Aug24)
I learned also how
to search for Potential Link Partners (PLP), a technique in SEO. I was given a specific
niche which is music and I need to get their website, email or submission form (URL)
and send them emails of Partnership Opportunities. PLP helps in SEO by hosting
a link of your website into their blogs.
Week
5 (Aug27 – Aug31)
The tasks that I’m told to continue were to
filter and edit articles and find potential link partners. There was a third
task that’s needed to be done which is Blog Commenting. The goal of blog
commenting is to comment on a blog on a specific niche. Other blog sites
approve your comment instantly and others are pending. It’s a multi-tasking
job.Week 6 (Sept3 – Sept7)
On this week, I had my 2nd live link. The
first was on the 3rd week of my OJT. Because you had a favor to the blogger to
host the link, then they need something in return. Those link partners were
given Facebook likes, Twitter followers and Vimeo & Youtube views. Both
parties benefit each other.
Week
7 (Sept10 – Sept14)
I still continued my search for PLP and blog
commenting. So far these are my total: PLP(1104), Blog commenting(343) and Live
Link Partners(3).
Week
8 (Sept17 – Sept21)
We were introduced
into making websites using WordPress. WordPress is a nice tool for starters.
You need to have a FileZilla which helps you manage your website. Other needed
requirement is the stable realease of WordPress (Version 3.4.2). We were guided
on how to use the many functionalities of FileZilla.
Week
9 (Sept24 – Sept28)
We started a new
sprint called the Lead Generation. Basically, we need to find bands, musicians,
artists and music producers through the Internet and get their respective email
addresses, name, location and genre. After collecting numbers of email
addresses, we sent them messages of Reseller Invitation in which we invite them
to join our Buy Real Marketing Reseller program. Some replied, some did not and
some email addresses sent daemon email.
Week
10 (Oct1 – Oct5)
We are 7 interns doing the Lead Generation and
resources of bands, musicians, artists and music producers went scarce so we
need to strategize more in searching. Social networks like Facebook, Twitter
and MySpace can be great in searching and providing possible customers.Week 11 (Oct15 – Oct19)
I need to keep myself busy during OJT with
things that are meaningful. So, I decided to engage myself in a tutorial in
CodeCademy.com with the fundamentals of web design. I had a review in HTML and
CSS. I learned also the basics of languages which are new to me that include
Python and Ruby.
Week
12 (Oct22 – Oct25)
We were given a
brand new task. The task involves populating the forum section of
BuyRealMarketing.com. The quota was 1000 posts. We posted and created threads
in the forum. The team was able to meet the quota in just 3 days.
Week
13 (Oct29 – Nov13)
During these days, I continued my quest in
learning web design. I tried to learn the basics of Javascript. Aside from
that, I was asked also to make an article about the teeth with words not less
than 300.
