Fine Dining?

A brand new first took place this afternoon. Guess what? ... I was able to taste and eat Japanese food. Thanks to my Nihongo sensei who never told us that she was the owner of the hotel that we dined in.

Before the eating will be done, we first watched a movie entitled: "Howl's Moving Castle". I didn't fully understand the movie because I arrived late and that was probably already in the middle of the story. We also had an activity which I just copy from my classmates. I am not a good student. Kidding. ><

I think it was better if had pictures of the foods that we ate. But I don't have a camera. Poor Japanese student. The food and beverages are ready to be served. But before eating, Japanese has a practice of cleaning yourself with a hot towel. I loved the towel because it smells so good. It was poured with lots of fabric conditioner.

First stop, sake. It's a Japanese rice wine. We had a shot of it and I got dizzy. Sensei didn't told us early that the sake has 50-70% alcohol. The sake was the culprit of my dizziness. I need to carry on.

Next served was the raw foods. There were sushi, sashimi, california maki, the yellow egg and the most controversial wasabi. Japanese food is kinda weird because they eat raw fishes/tuna. But I still manage to finish them. My most favorite dish was the california maki which is stuffed in the center with mango and a bit of milk(I guess). The caviar is good. It was my first time to dip in a sauce which is hotter and spicier than a chili. I had really no idea of what a wasabi is until I had my taste of it. It had my nose smoke like a dragon. Imagine that.

Third is the chicken with veggies. It's time to have a break from their weird foods. I had my appetite going. The chicken was cooked differently in a way that it's really delicious.

It was followed by the soup. It was weird again because of its taste. I wasn't able to finish the soup. I only ate the meat that you need to find for it in the soup.

We were then served a big tray. It's Japanese tempura time. This part was great. I had my stomach and taste buds relaxed. The veggies were served in a way that it would not taste like a vegetable and you'll never know that it is a vegetable because it was mixed with flour. My most favorite food was the shrimp. I was able to taste tofu. Yummy.

During the course of the meal, I had my hardest moment of using the chopsticks. I even used the chopsticks while eating the rice which would pick only a few. Afterwards, I had my little finger immobile.

To finish it, we were given a tea that according to sensei that it smells so good. It was a prank. It smells like a cigarette/charcoal mixed in hot water. I don't know if it really was a tea.

It did not stop there. We were ready to go home when nature called me. I peed. I was wondering how to flush the toilet bowl. THIS thing shocked me. When I rotated it counter-clockwise, water sprayed out of no where. I wonder where it came. Then, I immediately asked the staff about the thing that released water out of no where and the staff answered that that thing is used to clean your ass when you poo. Hearing it from his mouth, I asked him once again if the water that came out was clean then he said yes. But in reality, I had my skin itchy after that. Maybe it was dirty.

I enjoyed the food but I doubt if I was fine while dining. Laughs.
